PULP: PAPER ART PARTY 2018

Hello everyone! Get ready to party in a room full of paper!  I'm please to announce that I will be part of this year's PULP: paper art party again! Tickets are selling out fast, so if you're interested, please purchase yours online.

TICKETS: adult: 20$,  student: $15 (with student ID shown at entrance)

PULP : paper art party 2018 is an evening combining installation art, live music, dancing, and charity. It’s a fundraiser designed to examine the current life cycle of paper materials among others and investigate alternative uses. The main event space is wheelchair accessible, regretfully however the washrooms and coat check are downstairs and not barrier-free accessible.  This year we turn Super Wonder Gallery (584 College St. Toronto) into a blue bin playground on Jan 20, 2018.  Doors open at 7pm, and party runs till 2am!  18+ event.

I will be doing a series of short art performances titled desolate paper girl between musical acts throughout the night.  desolate paper girl is a performance piece that explores the boundaries between the real and the imaginary.  This work is made up of old and new drawings and texts on paper, found, used papers, and video footage projections from the past.  As the desolate paper girl stands above, she lets the papers tell a story that once was, and never will be again.   (performances start at 9pm)

Nuit Blanche 2017 :: Toronto :: WIGGLY STREET :: #84

Design by Nour Bawab
WIGGLY STREET (no. 84) is an urban celebration of Canada, 150 Years into the Future.  This art installation and performance is created by the Wiggly Artists Collective specifically for Nuit Blanche Toronto 2017.  The Wiggly Artists Collective is a multidisciplinary collective that combines sculpture, visual arts, film, video, art performance, dance, sound, and music creating environments that unite their audiences. Produced by Takin Nateghi, WIGGLY STREET combines four major components that are led by four respective artists:

~ Visual and Performance Artist ~ Will create 6min long live performances each hour on the hour with Aurorah (musician) and Eros Leonard (dancer). Representing a 24-hour cycle over the 'future' years that tells a story of love and unity of the potential unknown, which are fundamental Canadian values.

:: Rouzbeh Heydari ::
~ Filmmaker, Director, and Producer ~ Projection mapping celebrating major world milestones and symbolisms that represent Canadian culture and values, such as multiculturalism, equality, and universality

:: Ryan Longo ::
~ Sculpture Artist ~ Sculptural installations with LED components representing futuristic urban forestry.

:: TAKIN of Wiggly Events ::
~ DJ and Producer ~ Curates the Audio Component – hourly audio performances will symbolically ignite the 'Reactor' (Longo) that powers the installation, fueled by the vibrations caused by audience movement.

NUIT BLANCHE artists do not get payed to create for this FREE event, and as such, we have created a GoFundMe Page in hopes to raise funding to cover some of the costs associated in putting together this art installation.

We appreciate any help!
 Thank You, in advance, for your on-going support!

  a short art performance in collaboration with very talented

:: OUR PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE IS ::
9:30pm* 10:30pm * 11:30pm * 12:30am *2am *3am

iridescent story pieces is an art installation created by visual artist aleks Bartosik  (ALeKs BaRtosiK ART).  This is a body of work that the artist has been exploring for over a year, creating different formations, such as a dome, a kinetic sculpture, and a series of performances in collaboration with cross-disciplinary performers.   This is a piece that is in constant change and presented in it's different formations - let the colours tell you a story.

Over the duration of Nuit Blanche, and held in conjunction with Wiggly EventsWiGGLY Street ~ Nuit Blanche on 145 Queen St W (University & York),  iridescent story pieces performance will run about every hour for 8 minutes, starting at 9:30pm.  Working in collaboration with performance artist and dancers, Aurorah, Em Leonard, and Beki Bobrovski, (and a few surprise character appearances) the performance will evolve, transform, engage, and build into an imaginary world, or a play-ground of sorts, for ‘the adult’ (and child alike), as the fantastical creatures dance amongst and within the crowd.

iridescent story pieces performance explores the boundaries between the real and the imaginary, I would like to take you by the hand and lead you into my maze of pictorial creations and fantastical creatures that will take you to places you never been and show you things you never seen.

IRIDESCENT DOME : repaired for Playground!

IRIDESCENT DOME: exhibited at Playground 2015

This Arts & Music Festival takes place in a different location reach year.  This year the Festival was located on the beautiful Christian Island, Ontario.  Organized by two Toronto based djs, TAKiN and Steintology, plus one of the members of Art Battle, Simon Plashkes. The festival ran three days.

iridescent dome was quickly repaired in time for the Festival and installed on the beach.  The dome was meant to show an array of different colours that changed and reflected as the days and nights went on. Here is the iridescent dome transforming from day to day.  Few art performances took place during the Festival in collaboration with dancer Beki Bobrovski who I have worked with in the past for the PULP PARTY.  Festival participants and locals were invited to wander within the iridescent dome, watch the performances and enjoy the music.  Let the colours tell you a story.
