Design by Nour Bawab
WIGGLY STREET (no. 84) is an urban celebration of Canada, 150 Years into the Future.  This art installation and performance is created by the Wiggly Artists Collective specifically for Nuit Blanche Toronto 2017.  The Wiggly Artists Collective is a multidisciplinary collective that combines sculpture, visual arts, film, video, art performance, dance, sound, and music creating environments that unite their audiences. Produced by Takin Nateghi, WIGGLY STREET combines four major components that are led by four respective artists:

~ Visual and Performance Artist ~ Will create 6min long live performances each hour on the hour with Aurorah (musician) and Eros Leonard (dancer). Representing a 24-hour cycle over the 'future' years that tells a story of love and unity of the potential unknown, which are fundamental Canadian values.

:: Rouzbeh Heydari ::
~ Filmmaker, Director, and Producer ~ Projection mapping celebrating major world milestones and symbolisms that represent Canadian culture and values, such as multiculturalism, equality, and universality

:: Ryan Longo ::
~ Sculpture Artist ~ Sculptural installations with LED components representing futuristic urban forestry.

:: TAKIN of Wiggly Events ::
~ DJ and Producer ~ Curates the Audio Component – hourly audio performances will symbolically ignite the 'Reactor' (Longo) that powers the installation, fueled by the vibrations caused by audience movement.

NUIT BLANCHE artists do not get payed to create for this FREE event, and as such, we have created a GoFundMe Page in hopes to raise funding to cover some of the costs associated in putting together this art installation.

We appreciate any help!
Thank You, in advance, for your on-going support!

NUIT BLANCHE 2016

NUIT BLANCHE :: 145 QUEEN ST W (University & York)

I present to You

IRIDESCENT STORY PIECES

a short art performance in collaboration with very talented

:: OUR PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE IS ::
9:30pm* 10:30pm * 11:30pm * 12:30am *2am *3am

iridescent story pieces is an art installation created by visual artist aleks Bartosik  (ALeKs BaRtosiK ART).  This is a body of work that the artist has been exploring for over a year, creating different formations, such as a dome, a kinetic sculpture, and a series of performances in collaboration with cross-disciplinary performers.   This is a piece that is in constant change and presented in it's different formations - let the colours tell you a story.

Over the duration of Nuit Blanche, and held in conjunction with Wiggly EventsWiGGLY Street ~ Nuit Blanche on 145 Queen St W (University & York),  iridescent story pieces performance will run about every hour for 8 minutes, starting at 9:30pm.  Working in collaboration with performance artist and dancers, Aurorah, Em Leonard, and Beki Bobrovski, (and a few surprise character appearances) the performance will evolve, transform, engage, and build into an imaginary world, or a play-ground of sorts, for ‘the adult’ (and child alike), as the fantastical creatures dance amongst and within the crowd.

iridescent story pieces performance explores the boundaries between the real and the imaginary, I would like to take you by the hand and lead you into my maze of pictorial creations and fantastical creatures that will take you to places you never been and show you things you never seen.

Mid-OCTOBER in Kingston, ON

If you're in Kingston (Ontario) in mid-October, come and check out Queen's University's Project for Homecoming titled Creative Expressions of Teaching and Learning.  This exhibit runs from October 1 through October 31.

"Much of what we do to enhance teaching and learning at Queen's
focuses on teaching practices, learning outcomes, course design,
etc.  While these are incredibly important, we can sometimes miss
the creative element of teaching and learning in higher education.
This month-long exhibit aims to display and celebrate the creativity
of teaching and learning that contributes greatly to student
learning."      __ Queen's

Creative Expressions will exhibit the following artifacts
in a number of spaces on campus throughout the month
of October 2016 with several interactive components
during Homecoming 2016 (October 14-16).  Passport
booklets and maps will be available in Grant Hall. As
part of these artifacts, my Iridescent Story Pieces
will be featured at Grant Hall.

NOVEMBER: Rhinocéros - a play directed by Pierre Gregory

Hello my French-speaking friends, ... and everyone interested in theatre and art!

This month - I'm pleased to announce that I have collaborated with a very talented play-writer/director, Pierre Gregory, on a French play that he directed titled :  Rhinocéros, written by Eugene Inoesco. The play will be held at l’auditorium de Gabrielle-Roy on 14 Pembroke St. (corner of Dundas/Sherbourne).
This is a *special* project for me because I got to collaborate with Oliver da Silva in creating the costumes for the cast.   Not only is Oliver da Silva a very talented sculptor, he also happens to be my partner and best friend.

A new BLOG with images of the sculptural costumes coming soon!
