LAST CALL @ P165

  (above) photo by Alex Bowron

Toronto is losing yet another vibrant community art space to hard economic times. After three-and-a-half years, Project 165 is closing its doors - for good. But this is no time to mourn. Let's celebrate!
...
To go out with a bang, Project 165 will open its doors to friends, supporters and fans alike, Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27, 2011, to celebrate artistic excellence past and future....
...
The weekend starts Saturday night with a stellar hiphop showcase featuring live emcees and deejay vibes, followed by a performance cabaret and art exhibition Sunday afternoon and evening.
...
Says Project 165's founding director, artist and curator Ryan Ringer: "It's been a good run. The space has generated a lot of positive community connections, many of which will continue to thrive, and the space has exposed a great deal of amazing artists to a broad audience. I'm sad to see the space go - it's like a good friend has come to pass - but I'm excited to hustle forward and explore new realms of experience."
